Ratings: FX’s “Tyrant” Rises This Week; Stays Below Season One Levels

While last week’s second season “Tyrant” premiere set series lows in live+same-day, it received a sizable boost from DVR/time-shifted viewing.

That lift suggested that the weak live performance was attributable to unusual competition from ABC’s NBA Finals broadcast. With the finals out of the picture, a path was cleared for “Tyrant” to rise this week.

The rise occurred, but it was not as significant as many were hoping. Had last week’s numbers not existed, this week’s adults 18-49 and total viewership marks would represent series lows.

Tuesday’s “Tyrant” drew a 0.34 adults 18-49 rating with 1.152 million viewers. The numbers best those of last week’s broadcast, which posted a 0.30 with 1.063 million viewers.

No first season installment of the FX drama drew fewer than 1.34 million live+same-day audience members.
