Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” Claims #1 at Pop Radio; Fastest “1989” Track To Do So

The fourth single from Taylor Swift’s “1989” officially claims #1 on this week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart.

Its five-week journey to the top was shorter than that of Swift’s three previous “1989” singles.

“Bad Blood,” the aforementioned fourth single, soars three places to #1 on this week’s edition of the pop chart. It received ~18,004 spins (+2,019) during the June 14-20 tracking week.

Officially represented at pop by a Kendrick Lamar rap remix, “Bad Blood” first launched at radio on May 18. The remix was not even officially confirmed, let alone released, until the night before.

In reaching the top after just five weeks, “Bad Blood” climbed the chart more quickly than earlier “1989” single “Blank Space.” That song, which previously ranked as the album’s fastest-rising release, required seven weeks to top the Mediabase pop airplay chart.

“Bad Blood” is the fourth straight #1 connected to Swift’s “1989.” In addition to “Blank Space,” previous singles “Shake it Off” and “Style” also reigned over the pop chart.

— Also in pop’s Top 5 this week: Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” (#2), Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth)” (#3), Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” (#4), Tove Lo’s “Talking Body” (#5).

— A multi-format offering, “Bad Blood” is currently #5 at Hot AC, #13 at Rhythmic and #20 at AC.
