They also trail the numbers posted by last week’s season premiere. It drew a 0.7 with 2.57 million viewers.

For the second straight week, NBC’s “Hannibal” faced the uphill battle of contending with ABC’s mammoth NBA Finals coverage.

For the second straight week, it delivered poor numbers.

According to fast national data, Thursday’s “Hannibal” posted a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 1.74 million total viewers. Both marks represent new series lows for the critically acclaimed NBC drama.

Last week’s season three opener, which was the lowest-rated and least-watched premiere on record, delivered a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with 2.57 million viewers.

While the NBA finals competition did not make life easier for “Hannibal,” the show did not face an inevitable decline this week. Lead-in “Aquarius,” which also went against the basketball game, drew an improved mark in adults 18-49 and nearly matched last week’s viewership total.

This week’s “Aquarius” drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 3.73 million total viewers; last week’s drew a 0.7 with 3.90 million.
