Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” Becomes Pop’s Most Played Song

Jason Derulo [ABC]

While it will need to wait until Sunday to be formally named pop radio’s #1 song, Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” currently holds the spot on the rolling Mediabase airplay chart.

“Want to Want Me” earns that position on the strength of the 18,597 spins it received between June 5 and June 11. That count gives it the narrow edge over Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again (featuring Charlie Puth),” which received 15,589 spins during the corresponding period.

Since Jason Derulo’s tune is still gaining airplay (albeit slightly) and Khalifa’s song is losing it, “Want to Want Me” should be able to maintain its #1 spot through the issuance of Sunday’s official chart.

If it does, it will become his fourth career pop radio #1 — and first since “Talk Dirty (featuring 2 Chainz).”
