Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” Crosses 1 Million Sales, Goes Top 10 on Country Airplay

The achievements continue to mount for Little Big Town’s hit single “Girl Crush.”

Already the reigning champion on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, “Girl Crush” this week vaults into the Top 10 of the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

It also crosses the 1 million sales mark in the United States.

The former achievement comes courtesy the song’s 26.766 million weekly audience impressions. Up by 2.431 million from last week’s tally, the impression count thrusts “Girl Crush” from #12 to #10 on this week’s Country Airplay chart.

Insofar as alleged–and controversial–opposition from radio programmers is what helped put “Girl Crush” on the map, its success on the airplay chart is certainly worthy of celebration.

The sales achievement was established during the May 25-31 tracking week. Set to return to #1 on the weekly Country Digital Songs chart, “Girl Crush” now boasts a cumulative sales total in the neighborhood of 1.05 million.
