Maroon 5’s “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt” and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” which ranked as the two most added songs at hot adult contemporary radio, achieve the same feat at pop.
Their rankings, however, are reversed.
Whereas Swift’s new single received more Hot AC adds than “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt,” the new Maroon 5 release lands higher on the pop board.
According to Mediabase, “This Summer’s Gonna Hurt” claims pop’s most added distinction on the strength of a whopping 130 adds. Swift’s “Bad Blood,” which received adds from 94 monitored stations, ranks as second-most added.
The two songs, which received promotional airplay support from iHeartMedia’s pop stations on Friday and Monday, respectively, are already among the format’s forty most played songs.
As far as the pop add board goes, Ed Sheeran’s “Photograph” follows as third-most added. It won support from 38 monitored stations this week.
OMI’s “Cheerleader” (23 adds) and Sam Smith’s “Like I Can” (21 adds) rank as fourth- and fifth-most added, respectively.
Other notable pop options: Nicki Minaj’s “The Night is Still Young” (18 adds, 6th-most added), Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” (17 adds, 7th-most added), Zedd’s “Beautiful Now (featuring Jon Bellion)” (15 adds, 8th-most added), Sia’s “Elastic Heart” (12 adds, 9th-most added), George Ezra’s “Budapest” (11 adds, 10th-most added, tie) and Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” (11 adds, 10th-most added, tie).
