Muse’s “Dead Inside” Remains #1 at Alt, Breaking Benjamin Still Tops Active Rock

Last week, Muse’s “Dead Inside” and Breaking Benjamin’s “Failure” reached #1 at alternative and active rock radio, respectively.

This week, they retain their top spots.

“Dead Inside” retains the Mediabase alternative airplay throne on the strength of the ~2,682 spins it received during the May 10-16 tracking week. Up 50 from last week’s total, the count allowed “Dead Inside” to maintain separation from Death Cab for Cutie’s “Black Sun.”

That song, which rises to #2 this week, received ~2,390 tracking week spins.

AWOLNATION’s “Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)” (#3), Foo Fighters’ “Congregation” (#4) and Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” (#5) complete this week’s alternative top five.

“Failure”‘s second stint as Mediabase’s #1 active rock song is owed to its ~2,175 spins (+141).

Zac Brown Band’s former #1 “Heavy is the Head (featuring Chris Cornell)” holds at #2 this week on the strength of its ~1,928 weekly spins.

Theory of a Deadman’s “Angel” (#3), Slash’s “Bent to Fly” (#4) and Three Days Grace’s “Human Race” (#5) complete the top five.
