Ratings: “Bates Motel” Hits Low for Season Finale; “Returned” Slips in Demo, Adds Viewers

The lure of the season finale did not help “Bates Motel” avoid a week-over-week ratings drop.

Monday’s episode, which concluded the A&E drama’s third season, drew a 0.58 adults 18-49 rating with 1.671 million total viewers. Both represent lows for the “Psycho” origin story.

Last week’s edition delivered a 0.68 adults 18-49 rating with 1.734 million total viewers.

The first season finale of “The Returned,” which led out of “Bates,” faced mixed results in the ratings report.

Down in the demo but up in total viewership, this week’s “The Returned” drew a 0.30 adults 18-49 rating with 945,000 viewers. The previous installment scored a 0.34 among adults 18-49 but reached a total of 935,000 viewers.

Unlike those of “Bates,” neither of this week’s “The Returned” numbers represents a series low.
