SNL Ratings: Reese Witherspoon, Florence Episode Rises from Last Week’s Low

Last week’s “Saturday Night Live,” which aired against the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao fight, delivered a season low ratings performance.

Whether the fight truly was the culprit will never be known. What is clear, however, is that this week’s episode — which did not air opposite the biggest boxing match of all time — delivered improved marks.

Featuring host Reese Witherspoon and musical guest Florence + The Machine, Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 3.7 overnight household rating. It posted a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

Last week’s episode, which featured host Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Wiz Khalifa, drew a 3.4 overnight household rating and a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating in the local people meter markets.

“SNL” concludes its 40th season next week. Louis CK will host the episode, while Rihanna is slated as musical guest.
