Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” Tops Hot Country; Reaches #18 on Hot 100

The “Take Your Time” streak is officially over.

On the heels of a show-stealing Academy of Country Music Awards performance that resulted in the song’s best weekly sales total yet (~110,000), Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush” rises to the top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

In getting there, “Girl Crush” overtakes Sam Hunt’s long-reigning “Take Your Time.”

In conjunction with its rise on Hot Country Songs, “Girl Crush” vaults to a new peak position on the Billboard Hot 100. Up five places, the ballad grabs #18 on this week’s edition of the all-encompassing Billboard listing.

While Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” loses its #1 spot on Hot Country Songs, its week was not all-bad. As of the tracking week ending April 26, the song boasts a cumulative US sales total in excess of 1 million.
