RDMA: Tori Kelly, Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez Comment on Awards Show

Whether there to watch, perform, host or receive an award, those in attendance at the 2015 Radio Disney Music Awards demonstrated an enthusiasm for “Music’s Biggest Event for Families.”

Playing off that enthusiasm, the Radio Disney team captured sound bites from some of the night’s celebrity guests as they spent time backstage or on the red carpet.

Some of those sound bites follow:

Tori Kelly (following her performance)
“The best part was seeing all the kids and all the fans so close to the stage…I got to perform on a more intimate stage with just me and a guitar.”

Zendaya (following her work as host)
“It was awesome. We just had a lot of fun, and again: this show is not about criticism or about who’s better, it’s just about having fun and enjoying ourselves.”

Jennifer Lopez (regarding her Hero Award)
“To be able to effect some sort of change in the world BECAUSE you’re successful [in entertainment] and can use that to help other people is so much more rewarding than anything you could imagine when you first start out in this business.”

George Sheppard (of performing act Sheppard)
“I was really excited to see Nick Jonas, that was my bucket list tick. And Tori Kelly as well, she’s really cool.”

Fifth Harmony (on the red carpet prior to the show)
Normani: “We’re very grateful to be nominated for three awards, and – yeah – Disney has been super supportive of us throughout our career. We love Disney so much.”

Camila: “We’re excited to be performing – my sister’s watching this from home….[Disney has] a good message, too, about teaching kids to dream big, and I think that’s really, really important. An awards show with such positivity is really cool.”
