Rayvon Owen Survives Thanks to 4th “American Idol” Instant Save

FOX’s “American Idol” committed to offering four “Instant Saves” this season.

Contestant Rayvon Owen secured all four.

This week’s episode marked the fourth straight broadcast in which Rayvon appeared in the bottom two. It was the fourth straight broadcast in which Twitter users rallied to successfully keep him in the competition.

Thanks to his obvious appeal with such voters and support for his renditions of “I’m Not the Only One” and “Go Your Own Way,” Rayvon defeated fellow bottom two member Quentin Alexander in the live Twitter vote.

As a result, Quentin was eliminated from the competition, and Rayvon remained eligible for this week’s post-show fan vote. He also secured himself a place on the summer “Idol” tour, which now includes only five contestants.

Joining Rayvon in the official top five are Jax, Nick Fradiani, Clark Beckham and Tyanna Jones.
