Ratings: “The Returned” Sinks to Low Out of Fairly Steady “Bates Motel”

Certainly not a strong performer, A&E’s “The Returned” was at least a reasonably steady one across the past few episodes. After premiering to an audience of 1.536 million, the series’ subsequent five episodes landed in the narrow 1.051 million – 1.122 million range.

This Monday’s episode fell from that comfort zone — and beneath the 1 million viewer mark.

Monday’s edition of “The Returned” drew a 0.29 adults 18-49 rating with 873,000 viewers. Both were clear series lows.

Both were also down from those of last week’s broadcast, which drew a 0.38 with 1.052 million viewers.

— In enduring only a slight decline in the demo (0.68 rating this week versus a 0.70 rating last week) and actually enjoying a slight uptick in viewership (1.693 million viewers this week versus 1.686 million last week), lead-in “Bates Motel” cannot be blamed for the freshman series’ sizable week-over-week loss.
