ACM Awards: Miranda Lambert’s “Automatic” Wins Song of the Year

A half hour has passed since the 50th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards broadcast, and the first of the night’s award winners has finally been revealed.

“Automatic,” the lead single from Miranda Lambert’s “Platinum” was named song of the year.

Written by Lambert, Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, “Automatic” beat out Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow,” Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids,” Dierks Bentley’s “I Hold On,” Luke Bryan’s “Drink a Beer” and Eric Church’s “Give Me Back My Hometown.”

Lambert, a nominee for Entertainer of the Year (and other awards), will perform later in the broadcast.
