Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” Blasts Into Pop’s Top 15; Sam Smith Goes Top 20

Two weeks ago, Walk the Moon’s alternative crossover “Shut Up and Dance” reached pop radio’s Top 25. Last week, the song surged into the format’s Top 20.

This week, it vaults into the Top 15.

According to Mediabase, “Shut Up and Dance” received approximately 6,267 spins during the April 5-11 tracking week. That facilitates a five position rise to #15 on the official pop radio airplay chart.

The new pop radio achievement comes as “Shut Up” maintains its #5 position at alternative and rises to #6 at hot adult contemporary.

No other song enters the pop Top 15 this week. Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” does, however, enter the Top 20. The follow-up to his hit “I’m Not the Only One” rises one place to #20 on the strength of its 4,524 weekly spins.
