Ratings: FOX’s “New Girl” Drops to Series Low, “Weird Loners” Holds Steady (Updated)

Update: FOX’s “New Girl” indeed delivered a series low performance Tuesday.

Per final broadcast data, Tuesday’s episode slipped to a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 2.14 million viewers. Last week’s episode, which was a poor performer in its own right, scored a 1.0 with 2.32 million.

Despite the slight lead-in reduction and the introduction of competition from “The Voice,” “Weird Loners” held steady in the adults 18-49 demographic. Like last week’s premiere, it delivered a 0.7 rating.

Its viewership total fell from 1.89 million to 1.71 million.

The week-over-week stability does not, however, change the fact that the numbers themselves are minuscule.

The ratings woes continue for FOX’s “New Girl,” which fast national data reveals hit series lows in adults 18-49 and total viewership this week.

According to that fast national report, Tuesday’s “New Girl” drew a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 2.18 million viewers. Barring upward adjustments in the final ratings report, it will represent the series’ lowest-rated and least-watched episode on record.

Last week’s episode, which came on the heels of FOX’s announcement that the show was renewed for a fifth season, drew a 1.0 rating with 2.32 million viewers.

Despite the week-over-week reduction, freshman comedy “Weird Loners” matched last week’s 0.7 adults 18-49 ratings. Its viewership total, however, fell from 1.89 million last week to 1.72 million this week.

While the stability is admirable, the performance is still poor by any reasonable standard.
