Ratings: AMC’s “Mad Men” Matches 2014 Premiere, Tops Last Finale

Sunday’s “Mad Men” premiere, which kicked off the second half of the seventh and final season, almost precisely matched the adults 18-49 and viewership numbers drawn by the spring 2014 premiere.

Entitled “Severance,” Sunday’s episode drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 2.266 million viewers. Last year’s premiere, which aired on April 13, 2014, drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 2.268 million viewers.

While that does mean “Mad Men” failed to score a boost for the start of its final string of episodes, it at least avoided turning them away. That it held steady on the Easter holiday surely counts for something.

Moreover, Sunday’s “Mad Men” premiere topped the numbers for the season 7.1 finale. Airing on May 25, 2014, that episode drew a 0.7 with 1.936 million viewers.
