Ratings Update: CBS’ “The Dovekeepers” Declines in Night Two

Update: Final ratings data reveals that night two of “The Dovekeepers” drew a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 6.35 million viewers.

Lead-in “Survivor” scored a 2.2 adults 18-49 rating with 9.59 million viewers.

The fact that “Survivor” matched the adults 18-49 rating for Tuesday’s “NCIS” lead-in but considerably trailed its viewership average (16.60 million) likely explains why the “Dovekeepers” conclusion took a very slight hit in adults 18-49 (down from a 1.0 for Tuesday’s airing) but a significant one in total viewership (down from 8.98 million for Tuesday’s airing).

The closing night of CBS’ “The Dovekeepers” miniseries drew weaker ratings than the opening one.

According to fast national data, Wednesday’s broadcast drew a mere 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 6.52 million viewers from 9-10PM and a 0.8 with 6.27 million from 10-11PM.

In the corresponding fast nationals, Tuesday’s two hours drew a 1.1 with 9.79 million viewers and a 1.0 with 8.19 million, respectively.

Final data reveals a 1.0 average adults 18-49 rating and 8.98 million average viewership mark for night one.

Particularly notable about Wednesday’s performance was the erosion in total viewership. That can almost certainly be attributed to lead-in.

While the fast national adults 18-49 rating for Wednesday’s “Survivor” lead-in matched that of Tuesday’s “NCIS” (2.1), its viewership average of 9.47 million significantly trailed the 16.33 million fast national average for “NCIS.” “Survivor” provided a significantly younger-skewing lead-in, and that resulted in a younger-skewing outing for “The Dovekeepers.”
