Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” Opens as Pop’s #23 Song; The Weeknd Hits #24

Thanks to an even bigger first week of airplay than that achieved by Zedd and Selena Gomez’ recently launched “I Want You to Know,” Jason Derulo’s new “Want to Want Me” opens at #23 on the Mediabase pop airplay chart.

Derulo’s new single earns that rank on the strength of the 3,672 spins it received during the March 8-14 tracking week.

Two weeks ago, the aforementioned “I Want You to Know” debuted at the same #23 but with a lesser opening week spin count. It received 3,287 plays during its first week of release.

Both songs received promotional first day airplay support but then continued to amass significant and more organic attention as the week progressed.

Also new to the weekly pop Top 25 is The Weeknd’s “Earned It.” The “50 Shades of Grey” single rises three places to #24 on this week’s chart.

— Both songs are also charting on Mediabase’s rhythmic airplay listing. “Earned It” is up to #7 on that chart, while Derulo’s tune will notch a Top 40 debut this week.
