Ratings: “Reign” Hits Viewership Low, “Vampire Diaries” Falls to Overall Low

Update: Neither The CW’s “Reign” nor The CW’s “The Vampire Diaries” enjoyed an upward adjustment in the final ratings report.

Both, in fact, saw their viewership averages adjusted downward.

Thursday’s “Reign” ended up delivering a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating with 0.96 million viewers.  The demo rating matches that drawn by the previous installment, but the viewership average represents a new low mark for the series.

The distinction was even more damning for “The Vampire Diaries.”  The episode’s 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 1.30 million viewership average both represent new series low marks.

==================
The CW’s Thursday dramas returned with their original first broadcasts since February 19, and the results were mixed.

9PM sophomore drama “Reign,” which has been renewed for a third season, almost perfectly mirrored its previous performance. Per fast national data, this week’s episode matched the 0.4 adults 18-49 rating drawn by the February 19 installment. The viewership average of 1.04 million narrowly bested the 1.03 million drawn by the previous episode.

8PM entry “The Vampire Diaries,” however, slipped in both columns. Per the same fast national data, it drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating and 1.33 million viewers.

The February 19 installment scored a 0.7 rating with 1.41 million viewers.
