Madonna’s “Living for Love” Falls Out of the Top 40 at Pop Radio

After rocketing into the Top 40 of last week’s Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, Madonna’s “Living for Love” drops out of that section this week.

The single falls eleven places to #45 thanks to the 655 spins it received during the February 22-28 tracking week. That count trails last week’s sum by a whopping 792.

Madonna’s single thus lost more than half of its airplay this week.

Whether the previous week’s airplay surge, which began on Valentine’s Day, was part of a formal promotion or the result of pop programmers testing the track, it is clear they did not feel compelled to stick with it.

A rebound is never totally out of the question, but the aforementioned reality represents a very pessimistic sign.
