Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” Crosses the 2.5 Million Sales Mark

Ed Sheeran (CBS)

Already the best-selling US single of his career, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” crosses a new checkpoint this week. It now claims a US sales total in excess of 2.5 million.

The week’s third-best-selling song, “Thinking” commanded a weekly sales count of 202,000. Per Nielsen Music, that count elevates the song’s cumulative sum to approximately 2.6 million.

Benefiting immensely from its Grammys exposure, “Thinking” last week surpassed breakthrough hit “The a Team” as the hottest seller of Sheeran’s career. To date, “The a Team” has sold approximately 2.3 million copies in the US.

“Thinking Out Loud” holds at #2 on the latest edition of the Billboard Hot 100. As has been the case for several weeks, it stands one position shy of Mark Ronson’s chart-topping “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars).”
