Drake Drops Surprise “If You’re Reading This” Mixtape Ahead of “Views from the 6”

For the past few days, those who bought into the Internet rumor that a major name would “pull a Beyonce” and release a surprise album in conjunction with Sunday’s 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony have been locked in a state of disappointment. No such release had materialized.

Depending on one’s view of Drake and mixtapes, that disappointment might have just turned into glee.

Thursday night, the hip-hop superstar released a surprise mixtape “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.”

The commercial release, which is reportedly intended as a precursor to his forthcoming “Views from the 6,” contains seventeen tracks. A delay is preventing iTunes from revealing the album’s position on the chart, but it will surely appear within the listing’s upper reaches on Friday.

“If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” was first teased with a short film entitled “Jungle” (embedded below). It then emerged on iTunes and SoundCloud Thursday evening.

The free SoundCloud stream has since been removed.

The album’s track list follows:
1. “Legend”
2. “Energy”
3. “10 Bands”
4. “Know Yourself”
5. “No Tellin'”
6. “Madonna
7. “6 God”
8. “Star67”
9. “Preach” (featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR)
10. “Wednesday Night Interlude” (featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR)
11. “Used To” (featuring Lil Wayne)
12. “6 Man”
13. “Now & Forever”
14. “Company” (featuring Travi$ Scott)
15. “You & The 6”
16. “Jungle”
17. “6PM in New York”
