Hot 100: Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” Hits Peak, Missy Elliott Returns

From a buzz perspective, Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” might be getting overshadowed by singles from artists like Mark Ronson, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Ellie Goulding. From a chart perspective, the first single from “Piece by Piece” continues to make moves.

“Heartbeat Song” vaults twenty two spots to a new high of #34 on the all-encompassing Billboard Hot 100. Currently in its fourth week on the chart, Clarkson’s single is identified as one of the week’s top performance gainers.

Other notable performers in the #30-50 range this week:

— Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’ “Prayer in C” rises three places to a new high of #30.

— Two of Missy Elliott’s Super Bowl numbers all return to the Hot 100. “Work It” re-enters at #35 and “Get Ur Freak On” returns at #40.

— Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” nears the top 40 at its new peak of #42.

— Thomas Rhett’s “Make Me Wanna” reaches a new high of #49 (+3).
