Taylor Swift’s “Style” Music Video Premieres on Friday, February 13

“Blank Space” has peaked on the Billboard Hot 100, the Grammy Awards are over and the era of “Style” is officially underway.

And to kick the campaign into high gear, Swift will release the official “Style” music video on Friday, February 13.

After shooting down claims that the video was due to debut Monday, February 9, Swift confirmed on her social media accounts that the release is actually slated for the eve of Valentine’s Day. That date, the 13th, also possesses Swift’s favorite number.

While a Friday release does not represent an optimal strategy for amassing Billboard Hot 100 points (since it falls late in the tracking week), Swift fans will doubtfully care about the lack of gamesmanship. They are getting the video for her third “1989” single this week.

Plus, if the video lives up to expectations, it will remain hot for more than a few days. The result will be a last-minute boost to this week’s streaming score and an opportunity to remain highly competitive in next week’s race.

Even though it was not due to technically impact radio until this week, “Style” is already a top ten song at pop radio and a top thirty song on the Billboard Hot 100.
