Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” Ranks as Hot AC’s Most-Added Song

Sam Smith, who won four awards at the 57th Annual Grammys, claims the week’s most-added song at hot adult contemporary radio.

“Lay Me Down,” the third radio single from his Pop Vocal Album of the Year “In the Lonely Hour,” earns the most-added distinction on the strength of what Mediabase reports as 19 monitored pickups.

Already #47 on the rolling Hot AC airplay chart, “Lay Me Down” aims to follow in the successful footsteps of predecessors “I’m Not the Only One” and “Stay with Me.”

Ellie Goulding’s red-hot “Love Me Like You Do” and Taylor Swift’s even hotter “Style” follow with 15 monitored adds each. The Script’s “No Good in Goodbye” earns fourth-most-added courtesy its 13 weekly pickups, while Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” enjoys a show of support from 12 stations.

Other popular options at Hot AC included Echosmith’s “Bright” (6th-most-added, 11 adds), Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” (6th-most-added, 11 adds), Train’s “Bulletproof Picasso” (6th-most-added, 11 adds), Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” (9th-most-added, 10 adds), Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’ “Prayer in C” (10th-most-added, 9 adds) and Young Rising Sons’ “High” (10th-most-added, 9 adds).
