Miranda Lambert’s “Platinum” Wins Country Album of the Year

Going into Sunday’s 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, most observers assumed Miranda Lambert’s “Platinum” was a lock to win the Best Country Album race.

Their assumption was correct. “Platinum” received the award during Sunday evening’s broadcast.

To win, “Platinum” beat out Eric Church’s “The Outsiders” (which was considered the only other real contender), Dierks Bentley’s “Riser,” Brandy Clark’s “12 Stories” and Lee Ann Womack’s “The Way I’m Livin’.”

Lambert was in the mix for all four country awards, but Country Album of the Year represents her only victory this year.
