Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” is One of Pop’s 5 Most-Played Songs

After settling for #7 on Sunday’s official version of the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart, Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” enters the top 5 on Monday’s rolling chart.

The second single from Trainor’s hit album “Title” grabs the rolling #5 slot on the strength of the 12,904 spins it received between January 26 and February 1. Still gaining airplay at a very rapid rate, “Lips” is poised to remain a top five offering (and likely jump to #4) when Mediabase’s next pop airplay chart goes to print on Sunday, February 8.

The song’s rise on Monday’s chart was facilitated by the fall of Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” (from 6 to 7) and Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” (from 5 to 6).

“Lips” is the follow-up to Trainor’s breakthrough “All About That Bass,” which spent several weeks atop the pop airplay chart.

It is currently the #6 song at hot adult contemporary radio, #17 at adult contemporary radio and #40 song at rhythmic radio.
