Considering the length of the broadcast, the guest list for Sunday’s post-Super Bowl “The Tonight Show” seemed exceedingly long.
Sure, there would be time for initially advertised guests Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart and Ariana Grande. But what about the names like Carrie Underwood, Meghan Trainor, Christina Aguilera, One Direction and Sam Smith? Where would they fit?
NBC’s iconic late night show answered that question early in the broadcast when it featured a pre-recorded rendition of “We are the Champions” involving a laundry list of music superstars.
Those featured alongside “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and in-house band The Roots included Carrie Underwood, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Usher, Meghan Trainor, One Direction and Christina Aguilera.
