Ratings: SyFy’s “12 Monkeys” Gets Off to Modest Start

The hype was notable and the campaign was aggressive, but the result was unfortunately unremarkable.

SyFy’s new series “12 Monkeys,” which is an adaptation of the film, premiered Friday to a modest 0.4 adults 18-49 rating and 1.35 million viewers.

By comparison, SyFy’s series “Helix” scored a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.82 million viewers for its debut episode on January 10, 2014.

That launch, however, received lead-in support from the network’s popular WWE SmackDown! program (0.7 rating, 2.82 million viewers on 1/10/14).

This season’s “Helix” opener, which aired after the “12 Monkeys” premiere, settled for a series low 0.3 rating with 1.00 million viewers.

— Old-skewing, “12 Monkeys” drew a 0.2 adults 18-34 rating and a 0.5 in adults 25-54. Its rating in the men 50+ demographic was a solid 0.9.
