Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” is Now One of Pop’s 10 Most-Played

Hot adult contemporary radio’s fifth-most-played song is now pop radio’s tenth-most-played song.

“Thinking Out Loud,” the biggest overall hit of Ed Sheeran’s career, rises to #10 on Friday’s edition of Mediabase’s pop radio airplay chart. The song, which overtakes Mr Probz’ declining “Waves,” grabs its #10 spot on the strength of the 8,872 spins it received between January 9 and 15.

Up a whopping 3,230 spins during that period, “Thinking” was the window’s fastest-rising song.

“Thinking,” which is #4 on the all-encompassing Hot 100, currently ranks as Hot AC’s #5 song (4,983 spins) and adult contemporary’s #14 song (435 spins).
