Ellie Goulding, Maroon 5 Erupt as Pop’s Most-Added; Calvin, Taylor, Kelly Follow

Numerous acts scored support from pop radio programmers this week, but the big winners on Mediabase’s weekly add board are Ellie Goulding and Interscope’s radio promotions team.

Thanks to her “50 Shades of Grey” single “Love Me Like You Do” and her latest Calvin Harris collaboration “Outside,” Goulding claims the week’s most-added and third-most-added pop songs, respectively.

The former landed at an impressive 61 monitored Mediabase stations this week, while the latter picked up a healthy 48.

Not simply a victory for Goulding, the success of “Love Me Like You Do” speaks favorably to the work of Interscope’s team, which promoted the record at pop radio. Courtesy Maroon 5’s “Sugar,” which landed at 59 stations in conjunction with its official impact, Interscope also claims the week’s second-most-added song.

Other big winners at pop radio this week included Taylor Swift’s new single “Style,” which garnered 47 monitored adds weeks prior to its official impact date, and Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song.” Fifth-most-added for the week, the new Clarkson offering won support from 43 stations.

Ne-Yo’s new “She Knows (featuring Juicy J)” shares the sixth-most-added position with Tove Lo’s new “Talking Body.” Both landed at 29 stations this week. Kanye West’s “Only One (featuring Paul McCartney)” and Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s “Prayer in C” tie for eight with 23 adds each, while Becky G’s “Can’t Stop Dancin'” claims the tenth-most-added spot with 22 adds.
