“Jane the Virgin” Star Gina Rodriguez Wins Best Actress Golden Globe

What a day for The CW’s “Jane the Virgin.”

Early Sunday afternoon, news came that the freshman drama was renewed–alongside seven other CW series–for next season.

Sunday evening, lead Gina Rodriguez was named the Golden Globe winner best actress in a musical or comedy television series.

Newcomer Rodriguez beat out Lena Dunham, Edie Falco, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Taylor Schilling. She proceeded to offer an emotional acceptance speech.
