Echosmith’s Single “Bright” Hits Radio in February; Music Video Coming

After proving cool enough to fit into several radio formats, Echosmith now hopes to shine “Bright.”

WB Records confirms that “Bright,” a fan favorite track from the band’s 2013 debut album “Talking Dreams,” will impact radio as the official follow-up to breakthrough hit “Cool Kids.”

“The new single ‘Bright’ will impact at radio on February 3, with a video coming shortly after,” a WBR representative tells Headline Planet.

While it did not confirm “Bright” by name, the band Tweeted that it was shooting its new music video Thursday. And insofar as the accompanying photo featured members Sydney, Jamie, Noah and Graham Sierota wearing sunglasses, some immediately interpreted the Tweet as a hint that the shoot was for “Bright.”

A stripped, uplifting tune with soft rock and indie folk sensibilities, “Bright” reflects the rawer, more emotional facet of the band’s discography. The modest instrumental helps divert nearly all attention to lead singer Sydney, whose beautifully restrained vocal performance still manages to pack a powerful punch.

Musically compelling but not as conceptually marketable or conventionally radio-friendly as “Cool Kids,” the new single will put the Echosmith brand–and the quality of its dynamic sound–to the commercial test.

An acoustic rendition of “Bright” follows:
