iHeartRadio Music Awards Show Returns to NBC this March

Despite posting modest ratings, the inaugural iHeartRadio Music Awards ceremony did not prompt NBC to quit on the franchise. The network announced Wednesday that it will be airing a second edition of the awards show this March.

NBC has yet to reveal any awards categories and performers, but it did confirm that the show will air on March 29, 2015 from 8-11 PM ET. It will be simulcast on iHeartMedia stations and the iHeartRadio digital platform.

In announcing the date, NBC reveals that the broadcast will be moving to the Sunday night timeslot that is more typical of high-profile music awards shows (including the Grammys, the Billboard Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards). Last year’s show aired on Thursday, May 1, 2014.

Of note: the opening line of NBC’s press release says the show will broadcast from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, but one of the last lines of the release says information on the venue will be “announced soon.”
