For longtime “Glee” fans, this coming Friday night will be a very special one. It is on that night that FOX will commence the sixth and final season of the musical comedy they have to come to love (and, sometimes, love to hate) so dearly.
FOX will air two episodes as part of Friday’s premiere event, but for many of those veteran fans, the second hour possesses a particularly compelling appeal. It is in that episode that several key characters — including Santana, Brittany, Artie, Mercedes, Tina, Puck and Quinn — return to the mix.
While none receives much in the way of storyline development, all receive chances to participate in the action.
Dubbed “Homecoming,” the episode finds the aforementioned characters return to Lima (in conjunction with the annual homecoming) to help Rachel and Kurt launch a new version of the New Directions. The episode also spotlights several new characters that will factor into the final string of episodes.
Characters like Blaine, Sam, Will, Rachel, Sue and Kurt appear in both episodes.
