Hot 100: Matt McAndrew’s “The Blower’s Daughter” Lands in Top 40

The recipient of immense sales interest, Matt McAndrew’s cover of “The Blower’s Daughter” opens within the top 40 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

“The Voice” contestant claims #40 for his performance, which earned him an iTunes multiplier bonus and a position in the season seven semifinals.

That top forty bow represents the best for a “The Voice” cover release since season five’s Matthew Schuler reached the same mark with “Hallelujah.” Prior to that achievement, season three winner Cassadee Pope reached the top 40 twice courtesy her takes on “Over You” and “Hallelujah.”  They landed at #25 and #40, respectively.

Season one contestants Javier Colon and Dia Frampton also earned placement in the Top 40, but they did so via original songs.  Their “Stitch by Stitch” and “Inventing Time” debuted at #17 and #20, respectively.

— Fellow contestant Taylor John Williams also appears on the Hot 100 this week. His “Royals” claims the #100 spot.
