Maroon 5’s “Animals” Repeats as #1 at Pop, Hot AC

For the second consecutive week, Maroon 5’s “Animals” simultaneously rules over the pop and hot adult contemporary airplay charts.

According to Mediabase’s official pop chart, “Animals” holds at #1 thanks to the 17,318 spins it received during the November 23-29 tracking period. While it did endure a slight airplay decline this week (a week-over-week spin decrease of 14), it remained a considerably more popular option than Ed Sheeran’s runner-up “Don’t.” That song earned 15,609 spins this week.

Other top five songs at pop include Tove Lo’s #3 “Habits (Stay High),” Calvin Harris’ #4 “Blame (featuring John Newman)” and Taylor Swift’s #5 “Blank Space.”

“Animals,” meanwhile, leads Hot AC courtesy its 6,331 weekly spins. Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High),” which officially ranks as #2 this week, earned a considerably lighter spin total of 5,339 for the week.

Other top five songs at Hot AC include Taylor Swift’s #3 “Shake it Off,” Ed Sheeran’s #4 “Don’t” and Meghan Trainor’s #5 “All About That Bass.” All three of those songs lost airplay this week.
