FOX to Stop “Red Band Society” Production, Pull Show After Next Week

The prognosis is not good for FOX’s “Red Band Society.”

Very cognizant of its low ratings and vanishing buzz, FOX decided not to extend the freshman drama’s first season order beyond the initially booked thirteen installments. Production will stop once the remaining episodes are completed next month.

Broadcast, meanwhile, will stop even sooner. “Red Band Society” will be pulled from FOX’s schedule once its fall finale (the 10th overall episode) airs next week. The network has not revealed if the final three first season episodes will ever air on television.

It, nonetheless, has also opted not to confirm that the show truly is cancelled. While the general belief is that its grim fate of cancellation has been sealed, it technically remains a bubble series for the network.

“Red Band Society” has delivered consistent numbers in recent weeks, but that consistency comes in a ratings territory that is weak even by the depleted 2014 FOX standards.
