“Uptown Funk,” “Lips are Movin” Surge on Single Sales Chart

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars do not take the “Saturday Night Live” stage until this weekend, but their “Uptown Funk” collaboration is already making major moves on the iTunes single sales chart.

As of press time, the track is up to #3 on the all-genre chart. Only Taylor Swift’s blockbuster #1 “Blank Space” and Hozier’s breakthrough #2 “Take Me to Church” are selling at a faster rate.

Seemingly destined to become a big hit, Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” is already a top thirty performer at pop radio, a top fifty performer at hot adult contemporary radio and the #65 song on Billboard’s all-encompassing Hot 100.

Also making waves on the iTunes chart is Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin.” A solid seller since its release, “Lips” gained particular stream this week courtesy the launch of its music video and surging radio airplay. It is currently #9 on the single sales chart.

Trainor is also represented in the top ten by former #1 “All About That Bass.” The global phenomenon still holds the #5 slot.

Ella Henderson’s “Ghost,” which reached the top ten following her performance on “The Voice,” is still slotted at #10.
