Ratings: “American Horror Story: Freak Show” Hits Season Low, Stays Dominant

Facing stiff competition from ABC’s CMA Awards telecast and lacking the benefit of Halloween excitement, Wednesday’s “American Horror Story: Freak Show” particularly suffered a ratings decline.

“Pink Cupcakes,” this week’s episode, drew a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating with 4.22 million viewers. Both figures represent season lows for the FX anthology.

Last week’s episode, which aired two nights before the annual Halloween holiday, posted a 2.3 rating with 4.51 million viewers.

The corresponding episode of 2013’s “AHS: Coven,” meanwhile, drew a 2.2 rating but only 3.80 million viewers.

Despite the slip, “Freak Show” repeated as cable’s number one show this week. “South Park,” the runner-up in the young adults demo, drew a considerably weaker 1.0 rating.
