Sam Hunt’s “Montevallo” Sales Hit 69.9K; Best Country Debut Since 2011

Thanks to an opening week sales count of 69,881, Sam Hunt’s “Montevallo” debuts at #3 on the overall Billboard 200 album sales chart and at #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.

Those are not its only points of distinction.

According to label MCA Nashville, the 69.9K count ranks as the greatest for a debut country album since 2011.

The source of number one country airplay (and platinum-certified) single “Leave the Night On,” the successful, well-received album instantly establishes Hunt as an artist to watch within the genre.
