Ratings: “SNL” Hits Nine-Month High for Chris Rock, Prince

The appeal of host Chris Rock and musical guest Prince helped Saturday’s edition of “SNL” score a second consecutive ratings uptick.

After rising to a season high 4.1 overnight household rating last week, this Saturday’s edition, drew an even stronger 4.9 rating.

The episode, meanwhile, drew a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating in the twenty five markets with local people meters. That bests last week’s showing by 8%.

Both numbers are the best delivered by the show since February 1, 2014. That episode, which featured Melissa McCarthy as host and Imagine Dragons as musical guest, drew a 5.4 overnight household rating and a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating in the LPM markets.

“Saturday Night Live” will air a re-run of the Bill Hader-Hozier episode next week before returning with an original installment on November 15. That episode will feature host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Kendrick Lamar (who, interestingly enough, assisted Imagine Dragons with one of its performances on the aforementioned 2/1/14 episode).
