Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” Sales Surge Thanks to Beats Commercial

Invaluable exposure, last week’s “Saturday Night Live” performance was not, however, enough to send Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” into the top ten of the iTunes all-genre single sales chart.

The combination of surging pop radio airplay and inclusion in a high-profile new Beats headphones commercial was, however, enough to do the trick.

Following this weekend’s launch of a commercial for Powerbeats2 Wireless, which features LeBron James, Hozier’s breakthrough single surged to #4 on the iTunes sales chart. It currently trails only Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” and Maroon 5’s “Animals” on the chart, and there is no reason to believe it will not soar higher as buzz over the commercial grows.

Hozier’s self-titled debut, which debuted at #2 on this past week’s Billboard 200, currently holds the #5 position on the iTunes album sales chart.
