Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat” Goes Top 10 at Alternative

Merely in its third week on the airplay chart, Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat” is already one of alternative radio’s top ten songs.

Thanks to a spin count of 1,337 during the October 10-16 tracking period, “Beat” rises to #10 on the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart.  While its airplay growth has definitely slowed, it should have no trouble maintaining its top ten position through the issuance of Mediabase’s official chart Sunday evening.

The song’s audience of 5.143 million also ranks at #10 for the aforementioned seven day period.

When it comes to the Mediabase chart, “Yellow Flicker Beat” has already charged past the peak alternative marks achieved by preceding singles “Tennis Court” and “Glory and Gore.”  It is expected to do the same on this coming week’s Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

Its next aspiration will be to match the #1 Mediabase peaks attained by breakthrough singles “Royals” and “Team.”

— “Yellow Flicker Beat” is meanwhile up to #12 at Triple A radio.  It received 353 AAA spins between October 10 and 16.

— “Yellow Flicker Beat” is the lead single from the Lorde-curated “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” soundtrack.
