Christina Aguilera Returns to “The Voice,” Joins Adam, Pharrell, Blake

According to NBC, the coach who won last spring’s cycle of “The Voice” will not get a chance to repeat this television season.

The network announced that Usher will not be returning to its music competition series this spring.

“The Voice” will instead welcome Christina Aguilera back to the fold, who will coach for the first time since season five.

Also set to work season eight are new judge Pharrell, who debuted as part of the show’s current seventh season, and veteran judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

“We are excited to welcome Christina back to her red chair and can’t wait to see how she mixes things up among Adam, Blake and Pharrell, in what will be an incredibly competitive competition” said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Late Night Programming, NBC Entertainment. “These four talented artists are at the top of their game as musicians and as coaches. The mentoring is sure to be intense and the stakes will be high.”
