Mediabase will not issue its official Hot AC airplay chart until Sunday evening, but the portrait of the top ten is already complete.

As projected by Headline Planet earlier this week, Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” claims the top spot. Its first number one position at a radio format, the peak position comes on the strength of 6,360 spins during the September 21-27 tracking period.

Maroon 5’s “Maps,” last week’s leader, holds the #2 position, while Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” rises to #3. Trailing by only 145 spins, “Bass” is due to imminently usurp the #2 spot.

Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” slips to #4, while Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” hops to #5.

The latter’s spin count of 4,796 comes as the result of a 714 week-over-week increase. That was the Hot AC format’s largest during the September 21-27 period.

Sam Smith’s declining “Stay with Me” and MAGIC!’s sinking “Rude” claim the respective #6 and #7 spots.

Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” then follows with a three spot lift to #8. It represents Echosmith’s first appearance inside the top ten of any radio format.

Train’s “Angel in Blue Jeans” and Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” close out the top ten at #9 and #10, respectively.
