Meghan Trainor Performs “All About That Bass” on “Tonight Show”

Two years ago, Carly Rae Jepsen put additional viral momentum behind her smash “Call Me Maybe” by performing a “Classroom Instruments” version of the song with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots.

Earlier this year, Idina Menzel joined Fallon and The Roots, now the respective host and in-house band on “The Tonight Show,” to give her “Let it Go” the same treatment.

Thursday night, Meghan Trainor gets in on the fun.

The singer-songwriter joined the aforementioned “Tonight Show” team members to film a “Classroom Instruments” version of “All About That Bass.”

Set to air during the Thursday edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” the performance represents the song’s second notable piece of exposure on “Tonight.” Last month, The Roots’ Questlove and Captain Kirk Douglas–as Black Simon and Garfunkel–offered their interpretation of the song.

The “All About That Bass” clip will air as part of an episode that also includes an interview with Larry David, an interview and yoga training session with Gisele Bundchen and a performance by Jeezy with Future.

Due to NBC’s football coverage, the episode will broadcast later than its usual 11:35PM start time. Official first look photos from the taping — and a video of the “All About That Bass” performance — follow:
