Broods’ “Mother & Father” has yet to truly explode at alternative radio, but it has commanded enough traction to land in the format’s Top 40.

The New Zealand duo’s tune rises to #38 on this week’s published edition of Mediabase’s alternative airplay chart and #40 on Billboard’s weekly Alternative Songs chart.

According to Mediabase, the song received 194 spins and 306,000 audience impressions between August 24 and 30.

Other new Top 40 entries on Mediabase’s chart include Cage the Elephant’s “Cigarette Daydreams” (#34), Panama Wedding’s “All of the People” (#37), A Day to Remember’s “End of Me” (#39) and Young Rising Son’s “High” (#40).

Other newly-minted Top 40 songs on Billboard’s chart include Fitz and the Tantrums’ “Fool’s Gold” (#34) and the aforementioned “Cigarette Daydreams” (#37).
