MKTO’s “American Dream” Enters Top 40 at Pop

It might not be the same summer song that you used to know, but it is quickly becoming one many people do know.

According to Mediabase, MKTO’s “American Dream” was pop radio’s 40th-most-played song between August 18 and August 24. It received 752 plays and 2.64 million audience impressions during that window.

“Dream” serves as the follow-up to the duo’s “Classic,” which reached the Top 10 at pop and #43 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Off to a respectable start from an airplay perspective, “American Dream” will require broader support from pop radio if it seeks to follow in the footsteps of “Classic.” Since impacting radio earlier this month, it has been added by only a modest assortment of pop stations.
